06: Lord, Have Mercier!

That's right, Glorietta 4 is now home to a Laura Mercier boutique!  With only two other free-standing boutiques existing in the world (Tokyo and Hong Kong), Manila is truly blessed to host this brand.

Yes, Laura M. products have been available in Rustans for quite some time, but now we can take advantage of the complete lines every season and we also get to have a string of beauty specialists and makeup artists tasked to promote "the look".  For those that don't know, the signature Mercier look includes: creme smooth foundation, baked eye (slight, smokey brown), silky cheek color, light lip stain and "sequined" highlights.  In other words, subtle and flawless.


I thought I'd give you all a run-down of my top 5, all-time favorite products (since I am yet to indulge in newbies) to encourage you to make a trip to the boutique.  The following items have never failed me:

1. Hydrating Foundation Primer (there is an oil-free version for those with oily skin or a mineral version for those with sensitive skin) - this can be used on its own or as a great base to allow your makeup to last
2. Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer - Designed to provide sheer coverage and a radiant soft-focus effect with SPF20 (much-needed, especially now that it is summer)
3. Lip Stain in Peach Glaze - Comes in a little pot and can easily be slicked on with a finger. 
4. Eye Basics Eye Primer - A few dabs of this over the eye will keep your eyeshadow lasting all day (or all night) long
5. Creme Brulee Souffle - a luxurious body cream that smells delicious and leaves your skin silky smooth

Laura M. products are lasting, give a refined look and will most likely end up becoming staples in your personal vanity kits.  I, for one, prefer a very natural appearance when and if I do wear makeup so you can imagine my delight in the launch of the boutique here.  Plus I feel that with our current weather, these ultra-sheer products could not have come at a better time.
