DJ Teaze

My girl Thea Arvisu aka DJ Teaze was the Philippines' first lady Hiphop DJ, has opened for popular artists like Bruno Mars and has taken her craft to international waters.  Add that to the fact that she is strikingly beautiful inside and out; then I'm sure that I've convinced you that working with her was definitely an honor.

Shot by Harry Javier at Illustrious Labz (ILL-LABZ), Teaze's natural swagger and charm shone through in her 2012 press photo shoot.  See, not many ladies can pull off being the bombshell, the girl next door, and the interesting androgynous subject all-in-one.  Yet, she sure does.

Take a look at our recent work to see how this talented woman is far from one-sided:

RPAStyle.com Editorial: Gender Bender

I love the diversity of women and how we can wear masculine clothing, but not necessarily look...well...masculine.  For my first fashion editorial of the year, the concept was just this - a woman's ability to maintain both strength and softness, severity and subtleness.

Christmas Wish List

You know what? I don't even understand why people have to ask me what I want for Christmas.  There is no better gift than the gift of makeup! Okay, so you might think you don't know my style or that I might already have something, but 2 things to remember: 1) Call me Ms. Resourceful. If I have something, I will make use of it (unless we're talking about scary knock-offs) and 2) It's always best to have more than 1 stock of makeup that you really love.

In any case, if you really need to know (haha now I'm Ms. Fisher), then here are some items I am totes after:

1. Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet Collection in L'Exuberante

I can't say it any better than Chanel: "Perfect to give and to get..."

This collection was made for me.

2. Temptu Airbrush System

So I guess it's a good thing that I didn't get my airbrush kit yet, because this sleek, new set makes everything that came before it look old school.
This modern set is just what I need.

3. MAC Gareth Pugh Lipstick in Fervent

MAC and Gareth Pugh - it can't get any edgier than that. I am in love with the whole collection, especially the deep purple lippie that best represents the genius avant-garde designer's signature style. The Flight Lash falsies are out-of-this-world and ultra chic too.

Shadowy. Esoteric.
Flight Lash. Amazeballs.
The MAC Gareth Pugh Collection

4. Miss Piggy for MAC - 36 Lash and Penultimate Eye Liner

You have to admit that Miss Piggy was your first ever encounter with a diva as a child.  Not only am I thrilled about the fab lil' lady and the rest of the Muppets' return to the big screen, but also about this super cute "collaboration" that MAC did with the Muppet queen herself.  1 thing you can always expect from her - doe eyes - extra full lashes and killer winged eyeliner.  I'm not sure if I could pull off her trademark pink eyeshadow, but I sure am after that liner and those falsies.

Miss Piggy - forever fab.

Miss Piggy's collection > Wonder Woman and Hello Kitty's collection put together

5. Nars Modern Kabuki Collection

Rest assured that if I received anything from this collection, you would have given me a gift that would last a lifetime.  Each and every single thing is so gorgeous - too gorgeous - that I would never use anything; instead, I would put it on display.

I love my clients, but if I had this set, there's no way these would be touching their faces. Sorry!

6. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

It's the best...and I need a new one.

Still the best according to InStyle for the past 12345...years and any makeup artist/fanatic that you'll come across

7. Mally Beauty Evercolor Lasting Liner

Marathon wear and 2 brushes to achieve multiple eyeliner looks.  Love it.

Not officially available here. Multiply sites are the way to go.

8. Guerlain's Rouge G Lipstick

For that million-dollar smile.

9. Viktor & Rolf for Shu Uemura Eyelashes

Finely feathered and packaged with lovely display masks.  I'd probably use them, but then keep them on the display shelf.

10. Dolce & Gabbana Makeover

I was over the moon when I found out that D&G crafted their own makeup line.  How fun are their sleek, gold compacts?

11. Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Cream-Gel and St. Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan for Body

I refuse to tan, because I'm terrified of wrinkles and normally, I'm not into self-tanners.  However, when I came across these products through a friend, I have to admit I was a little amazed at how seamless and natural they looked when applied.  I wouldn't use these everyday, but on days when I'd want to warm up my look.

12. OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

Nail polish is makeup's sister so naturally, I'm always on the search for great shades to go with my makeup.  I normally wear darker stuff these days so I became an instant fan of this midnight purple color by OPI.

Possibly to be continued... ;)

Holiday 2011 Trends According to...

  • Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection: Les Scintillances de Chanel - Staying true to Old Hollywood and classic glamour, it's all about subtle, glistening golden beige eyes and glossy, rouge lips. The Beige Lamé Eyeshadow and Rouge Allure lipstick (or stain) make for a breathtakingly beautiful holiday look.

  • Dior Le Rouges Or Christmas Collection - Dior gives us more seductive and smokey golden eyes with scintillating red lipstick injected with a golden powder that melts like a pigment on the lips. This look is so effortlessly eye-catching and it can be achieved with Dior 5 Couleurs Gold Edition and Les Rouges Or lipstick in Trafalgar.

  • Lancome Holiday 2011 Collection - Another take on gold and red, but the gold is in the highlighter applied on cheekbones with the Golden Hat Illuminating Smooth Powder Goldenescent Glow while the red, L'Absolu Rouge in True Red, is a more vibrant shade to serve as the focal point of this look.  Seen on the hauntingly beautiful Kate Winslet are smokey brown lids to complete the look.  After 3 gold/red collections discussed, I guess it is safe to say that this combo doesn't fail.

  • MAC Holiday 2011 Glitter & Ice - The name of the collection is pretty self-explanatory, but for discussion sake, it consists of high impact and marbled, pearly metallic eyeshadow pots, satin lippies and dazzleglasses (shimmery lipglosses).  Obviously, none of us are expected to wear these products the same way as illustrated (unless you will be attending a futuristic-themed party), but perhaps think of channeling makeup looks from 2000.

  • Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beaute Holiday Collection - A look that I never tire of - ultra smokey gray eyes and nude lips.  I usually prefer matte when it comes to nude lippies, but the Metallique (brownish shade) and Rose Metallique are absolutely gorg. With respect to eyes, the Noir Terriblement 5-Shade Eyeshadow is to.die.for.  They didn't make it limited edition for nothin'.

  • Shu Uemura Holiday Collection by Wong Kar Wai - As expected, yet always delightful, Shu treats us to odd beauty with frostbitten eyes and contrasting shimmery, brownish red lips. The Burning in Water palette is lovely on its own, but what's a Shu look without the statement lashes?  The Dancing in Glitter Premium Edition Eyelashes are fab.  It's almost like having bits of snow crystals dusted on your lashes.

  • Guerlain Belle de Nuit Holiday 2011 Makeup Collection - With a holiday collection inspired by the evening sky, it seems that Guerlain can do no wrong.  With lush blue infused in the spellbinding Le Ombres de Nuit eyeshadow quad, the Parure de Nuit powder and blush (ever so lightly for that extra translucent glow), and the 30s-inspired Nuit d'Amour (the bluish red shade seen in the collection photo below) lipstick.  This collection is nothing short of intriguing and is definitely a breath of fresh [evening] air.

The ad made use of the Flirt d'un Jour lipstick shade, which can be a softer alternative to the Nuit d'Amour shade

----------------------------

I am a huge fan of holiday looks, because they mirror the milestones that occur during the closing out of every year.  Often times, my favorite brands release limited edition items that color up my annual Christmas Wish List.  Nevertheless, I don't always luck out on lists so I still find ways to pick up pieces here and there, make do with makeup that I already own and try out looks-for-less based on the most stand-out, fascinating holiday trends that I come across.  Instead of being intimidated by the [beautiful] struggle of getting each and every single product, there is no price on simply being inspired and aware.

Despite what any of our fates will be in garnering these collections, trying out these spectacularly genius ideas is still worthwhile.  Enjoy these Holiday 2011 Trends according to Chanel, Dior, Lancome, MAC, YSL, Shu Uemura and Guerlain.
