09: If Lips Could Kill...

On the regular, most of us like to stick to the "no makeup" look or legit go without makeup.  Some are really just not big on wearing makeup in general, but others (myself included) like to leave the full-on application to particular occasions.  It is especially at costume parties or shoots, when we can shamelessly vamp up our looks far beyond the norm.  Besides, some makeup products are obviously not to be used all the time.  Certain things like the out-of-this-world false eyelashes, intricate airbrush stencils, and shimmery/sparkly shadows can just make special appearances.

With that said, I recently learned about a makeup accessory that is loads of fun, but definitely not something that should be worn everyday.  Created by new brand Violent Lips, they are lipstick tattoos or the lip version of Sally Hansen's Nail Polish Strips.  You can tailor fit and apply really fun designs and prints to your lips without the prospect of smudging or on the converse side, permanent tattoo regret.

Fierce lips
From animal prints to glitter to polka dots, you name it.  They have the boldest, loudest styles that one could only imagine on their mouths.  While makeup fanatics have mixed reviews over these faux lip inks, I personally, can't wait to dabble with each collection (which I have already placed orders for, naturally).  I'm thinking of using my first pack in a shoot with really clean foundation and contouring,  blank eyes (even blocked out eyebrows) and just these lippies making a pop!

It's pretty self-explanatory on how to put these on (didn't we all use temporary tattoos as kids?), but I figured since it was available, I'd show you a video tutorial provided by Violent Lips:

Easy peasy right? We just have to remember that makeup doesn't have to be so serious all the time and like painting or other forms of art, it is a form of expression and has absolutely no limits.  In this case, expressing that the lips have it all.

If lips could kill, these violently striking smoochers would be on the most wanted list for sure.
