03: Survivor: Makeup

Makeup should enhance one's natural beauty.  While it is fun to transform your appearance completely for special occasions or for photo purposes, normally, you should just look like the best version of yourself.  Basically, makeup to look like you're not wearing any makeup.

We each have our usual makeup bag full of daily essentials that we depend on.  However, and I'm sure I'm not speaking just for myself when I say this, in order to put together this "no makeup" look, we need to pack in quite a lot of elements in our kits.

How can we do away with this excess makeup baggage?  Compacts and swatches.  Currently, I am quite liking the trans-seasonal compacts and swatches from Hollywood makeup brand known for the "no makeup-makeup" look - Victoria Jackson.  In what is aptly called the "survival kit", you get blushes, lipstick, liner, an eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow and applicators.  The shades come in a variety that do not veer from the natural skin tones and can be suitable for every skin tone plus they come in a sleek, black travel case that was designed to have compartments and drawers like that of a makeup studio.

Take a look:

Nifty little drawers

Having recently hit some SM Malls in kiosks, the Victoria Jackson boutiques will soon be opening too.  To have a better idea of what this brand has to offer, you can check out the Victoria Jackson official launch on Friday, March 25, 2011, 6-10pm at Opus Lounge, Resorts World.  You can partake in the makeup demos and claim free makeup and other premium items at the venue.  Yes, worth checking out.

Us women have enough junk in our bags that we have to lug around and as much as we hate to admit it, looking naturally beautiful takes quite a few steps in our makeup routines.  So why not compress, simplify and still be able to get the job done?  You can, indeed, survive with Victoria Jackson's "survival kit".
